This year it takes place simultaneously in more than 100 cities around the world on 25 October 2019. It brings together the challenges of the world’s cities with the people who have the passion and ability to solve them.
Each city sets its own local climate challenge that reflects what affects their urban life the most. Challenges can vary from air quality, water and waste management or extreme weather events, etc.
Participants then tackle the set challenge for a full 24-hours, before pitching their ideas in front of relevant local stakeholders. These ideas can develop into tangible sustainable solutions, projects and businesses that address city climate challenges across the globe.
Join us on October 25-26 for a high-energy, impact-focussed hackathon to find solutions to one of Sydney’s most pressing climate challenges: extreme temperatures.
Specifically, we want to find solutions for how might we leverage data and technology to develop new solutions that improve Sydney’s resilience to heatwaves, by mitigating related impacts on economic, infrastructure, social and public health outcomes?
Together we can make Sydney and the world a better place to live.
