A few years later, he went back to school to study computer science which took him on the path towards security research and academia. During this time, he identified vulnerabilities in all Linux packages managers and earned a National Science Foundation fellowship to fund his grad school research. A few years into a Ph.D., he realised he was not an academic at heart. He wanted to create and have a positive impact, and so, he created Less Bits.
