2050 Emergent is a one-day interactive showcase of future-facing startups, community initiatives and innovative projects focused on making the work of local innovators more accessible to the local community.

Open to the general public, the heart of 2050 Emergent will be a showcase of 30+ startups and other initiatives, envisioning exhibitors from across the full spectrum of innovation in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Green Cities, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, CleanTech and energy efficiency, Biophilic Design, EdTech, Food tech, Healthcare, Housing, Sharing Economy, Smart Cities, Social Enterprises, to name a few.

Designed and marketed around inclusion for all, this event on Saturday 19 October at Lower Town Hall, Sydney, will build a bridge between the local innovation sectors and the broader City of Sydney community. It is an opportunity for the local community to get hands-on, have a chat with local innovators, and try out some of the exciting tech being developed right here in Sydney.

  • A city with a future focused economy.

Want to get involved?

We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from startups and businesses across the spectrum of emergent themes. Note, no professional services providers will be considered.

What's the selection process?

All contributors will be selected based on:

  • The accessibility and interest in their initiative or startup for the general public
  • Their capacity to communicate about their project or startup in a way which can be related to by the general public
  • The level of interactivity of their product or engagement factor of their demo.

Key dates

Does it cost anything to be involved?

There is no cost involved except for your time commitment to be onsite for the duration of the event, and agreeing to the terms outlined.

What are the event details?

The event will be on Saturday 19 October from 10.00am - 4.00pm at Lower Town Hall, Sydney. All exhibitors will need to set up by start time and break down at the end of the event day. More details will be provided to confirmed exhibitors.

How many people from the public are expected on the day?

The event partner is the City of Sydney who along with Spark Festival will be heavily promoting this event to their database. It is expected that approx. 1,000 people will come through on the day. 

What are the terms?

This event is part of Spark Festival and upholds the Spark Code of Conduct. On confirmation and acceptance of your involvement in this event you are agreeing to be available for any media requests and obligations including being photographed or video as related to the event.
