Today's Learners - Tomorrow's Leaders is a future-focused conference will prompt delegates to reflect on the ways in which today’s learners are being equipped with the knowledge and skills to prosper personally and professionally tomorrow. Keynotes and workshops will offer ideas and practical strategies for both primary and secondary teacher librarians and teachers that draw on emerging technologies to extend, enrich, and empower students.

Kieran Nolan
Educational Technologist, International Speaker, CoderDojo Mentor, Blockchain Expert, and Business Development Executive. As the Educational Technologist at Wooranna Park Primary School, Kieran's strategic leadership has led the school to launching a 24/7 International Virtual Learning Environment in Minecraft, Victoria’s first CoderDojo, Australia’s first Immersive Education Club, the world’s youngest Cisco class, and the very first School on the Blockchain. Kieran collaborates with his teacher librarian at Wooranna Park PS on many of the inquiry learning and independent learning programs which integrate these emerging tech initiatives, and will provide conference participants with a lot of practical ideas and hands on skills to take back to their own school.
Dr Jane Hunter
Former primary and high school teacher, Jane teaches pre-service teachers in postgraduate programs in the School of Education at the University of Technology Sydney. She is a founding member of the STEM Education Futures Research Centre in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She is currently conducting a series of extended research studies to build teacher capacity in STEM in NSW, ACT and Victorian schools. The pedagogical framework featured in her recent book, Technology integration and High Possibility Classrooms: Building from TPACK is leading change in schools and was developed through deep studies of practice in Australian teachers’ classrooms.
Imelda Judge
Imelda Judge has been teaching for 25 years and has been a teacher and an executive member in a range of DoE school contexts. She currently works at Macquarie Fields High School, a part-comprehensive, part-selective high school in the south west of Sydney as the HT Teaching and Wellbeing. Imelda also worked in the Department of Education in Futures Learning for 12 months, in 2016 and 17. Imelda recently returned from the US where she was researching how VR is being used in schools to better prepare students for tertiary learning and working environments, with a particular focus on how VR is being used in English language and literature learning.
Our program also features three local edtech startups – Arludo, Block 42 and Literatu (Scribo).
